Day One...working with your group members who have the same country!
1) In your country group research your statesmen, country, and general information about the Congress of Vienna.As you research gather background material with an eye towards answering the following questions with regard to your nation:

  • What was it like during the Napoleonic Era of War?
  • What kind of losses did you face?
  • Who do you blame?
  • As victors, what will you demand in reparations
  • How will you ensure that there is a balance of power throughout Europe to prevent future wars and the rise of another Napoleon?

Meet with your group discuss the findings of your research. Work to develop a strategy for the Congress.

  • How will you get what you want? How will you protect yourself? What are you willing to compromise?
  • Which countries at the conference are the biggest threats to your stability and prosperity?
  • Which countries at the conference offer you the most as allies?
